Implementation

Parashift undertakes its implementation projects using a combination of international project management methods (such as UK-based PRINCE2) and Agile. The result is a highly collaborative and interactive project, where outcomes are achieved in smaller bite size segments.

Projects are broken down into a series of sprints, where deliverables are agreed upon up front and provided within timeboxed windows, allowing for user acceptance at the conclusion of each sprint.

In addition, projects are also agile in nature, giving you the flexibility to amend project priorities and timelines on a needs basis. This process allows for the adoption of new requirements as they arise through the discovery nature of the project.

Project sizes can vary from a handful of days to weeks, months or even years, depending on the scope of the project.

Parashift supports you with experienced and qualified specialists, including engineers, administrators, business analysts, solution architects, trainers and testers.

Personalization is undertaken as part of the implementation of the project. Parashift provides configuration changes to the system, to ensure that the system is fit for purpose.

Deliverables include:

  • Theming, which is the look and feel of the system as presented to the end user. It generally includes the company colors and fonts according to the organization’s style guide.
  • Taxomony, where an information management strategy is documented, to ensure that the hierarchy of information is organized and access permissions are agreed to, as well as naming convention and metadata requirements.

Integration

With extensive and proven experience, Parashift provides integration services to cover both simple and complex integrations solutions, which are fully tested and backed by our specialist support team.

For organizations to be effective, it is critical that line of business systems are in line with support business processes. The challenge for many organizations is that some systems only cover part of a process, and often require the assistance of other systems to complete the task. In this situation, system integration helps to achieve a holistic approach and receive the full benefits of automation, as well as ensuring a single source of truth for your information.

The complexity of integration will vary, depending on how tightly the integration needs to be, as well as how open the systems are to being integrated. Integrations can be one sided or bi-directional, and can involve multiple systems, with special consideration to importance, timing and order of events.

As part of our initial installation, Parashift will integrate to Active Directory or Open LDAP for authentication and authority, ensuring users only have access to what they are intended to. Additionally, integration to either SAML or Kerberos can provide single sign-on.

Other line of business applications, such as ERP, CRMs and finance systems, are integrated through the use of Open Standards such as CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Standard), the SharePoint protocol and WebDAV, or, more commonly, by publicly available APIs.

Support

At Parashift, our support to clients is fully backed by a documented service level agreement (SLA), which is based on ITIL v3 and is prioritised by incident severity levels.

We provide total support for all our partner platforms, including Alfresco, ProcessMaker and Ephesoft, as well as our proprietary tools such as AlfStream and AlfBI.

Our support is provided by way of pre-paid engineering hours, and includes phone and email based support services for unexplained behaviour, bug fixing, and system version management.

The Parashift support team employs accredited and certified engineers and follow a development test production regime, incorporating approved testing at every stage.

  • 1 Hour for Priority 1 incidents (system down).
  • 4 Hours for Priority 2 incidents (partial system down).
  • 8 Hours for Priority 3 (upgrade requests)

Parashift specialist consulting services are available to assist you to deploy solutions that cannot be achieved out-of-the-box or through configuration.

Proficient in the open source systems that drive our partner platforms (Alfresco, ProcessMaker, Ephesoft, AlfStream, AlfBI and VERS), our engineers and administrators have the depth of experience and breadth of knowledge to design and deliver specific outcomes as required.

Isolating and prioritizing your key business requirements is the critical objective in our consulting process. Through the engagement of our business analyst, we adopt a collaborative approach that works through the MoSCoW prioritisation process (Must Have, Should Have, Could Have and Won’t Have (this time)) that assists all stakeholders define and agree on the final set of requirements.

Throughout the consultative process, technical designs can be provided on request, documenting the solution architecture, the Bill of Materials, the project time estimates and the commercial considerations.

Services & Support

Parashift provides architecture and engineering consultancy services to assist you with the migration of your knowledge from one or many repositories. Our data migration services include ingestion of data and transcoding to ensure that it is fit for purpose for the new system, as well as exporting and checksum validation.

Our approach can take the form of a “big bang”, where total cutover occurs at a specific point in time, or a gradual process where systems run in parallel, which mitigates risk.

Full testing before and after migration is key, ensuring that knowledge transfer is successful. At Parashift, we undertaken both automated and manual testing, as well as checksum validation to ensure high levels of accuracy.

Common examples of Parashift migration include Oracle, SharePoint, TRIM/HPE Content Manager, and cloud providers, like Confluence and Dropbox, with Alfresco.
